Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have experience with “Next Step” and beyond aircraft, plus the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this is the easiest to fly 787 model yet, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly UMX™, Micro, or larger single- and twin-EDF models before attempting to fly the Micro Boeing 787 Dreamliner Twin 30mm EDF.

Exclusive Technologies

This is the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner model equipped with exclusive Spektrum AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make this an easier 787 to fly. SAFE Select also features an automatic Hand Launch Assist mode that senses the force of a hand launch and adds up-elevator so the airplane climbs at a higher angle for a few seconds, making launches easier.

Telemetry Capable

The Micro Boeing 787 Dreamliner is equipped with a control unit - including a receiver and ESCs - that provides a variety of real-time, power-system telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, current draw, and more, with both Smart and non-Smart batteries. View it on compatible Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, the iX12 to 20, and others) while you fly.

High Performance

The factory-installed twin brushless power systems feature 30mm fans with powerful 3S-compatible outrunner motors. This setup delivers excellent speed and performance, plus longer-than-average EDF flight times, when using the recommended 600mAh non-Smart and 850mAh Smart 30+C LiPo batteries with an IC2 connector. It also features optional-use motor/thrust reversing to help shorten rollout after landing.

Gear Options

Use the included fixed landing gear - with a steerable nose wheel and simulated gear doors/strut covers - to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Or fly without the landing gear installed for more speed and performance, using the automatic Hand Launch Assist Mode for easy hand launches and landings on grass.

Durable Design

The EPS airframe is lighter and stiffer than EPO or EPP while featuring molded-in scale details, plastic-reinforced nacelle bottoms and wingtips, and composite reinforcements throughout to make it strong yet lightweight. The result is an outstanding scale appearance that's easy to maintain and delivers the best possible flying experience. It's also easily repairable with odorless/foam-safe CA, Foam 2 Foam, epoxy, and other foam-friendly adhesives - and a complete line of replacement and spare parts is readily available should you need them.
